Crosby Farm, Nature park along Mississippi River, Saint Paul, United States.
Crosby Farm is a nature park along the Mississippi River in Saint Paul with over 6 miles of paved pathways crossing floodplain forest and riverbank areas. The grounds connect different habitats and provide access to lakes, riverbanks, and natural wooded sections.
The farm was established in 1858 by Thomas Crosby and operated as the largest agricultural property in West End Saint Paul until 1886. After farming ceased, the land gradually transformed into a public nature preserve.
The park serves as a primary location for birdwatching enthusiasts who gather to observe seasonal migrations along the Mississippi River corridor.
The area is equipped for visitors with picnic tables, boat access, and fishing spots, with the north side offering a bicycle repair station. The pathways are fully paved and suitable for various activities like hiking, cycling, or wildlife watching.
The area contains two connected lakes named Crosby Lake and Upper Lake that form natural habitats within one of Saint Paul's largest nature reserves. These lakes attract numerous waterfowl and make the location a focal point for observing bird migration patterns.
