Thuận Phước Bridge, Suspension bridge in Da Nang, Vietnam
Thuận Phước Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Han River with two large towers rising approximately 80 meters high. The roadway is 18 meters wide and features four traffic lanes plus separate paths for pedestrians and cyclists.
Construction began in 2003 and the bridge opened to traffic after a formal ceremony in 2009. This project was part of the city's infrastructure modernization during its period of rapid expansion.
The name means "fortunate development" in Vietnamese and has become a symbol of Da Nang's rapid growth. Locals use it every day as a vital link connecting different parts of the city.
The best times to cross are in early morning or late evening hours when traffic is lighter and visibility is better. Pedestrians and cyclists have their own dedicated paths that are separated from vehicle lanes.
The bridge is illuminated at night with LED lights that reflect on the water, creating a special view for evening walks. Many visitors return to see the lighting after dark, when the city is quieter and the effect is most striking.
