Văn Miếu Trấn Biên

Văn Miếu Trấn Biên is a Confucian temple with numerous halls and ceremonial spaces arranged in traditional Vietnamese architecture. The complex spreads across a large property with multiple connected buildings serving different functions.

The site was founded in 1715 by Vietnamese military leader Nguyễn Phúc Chu. After being destroyed in 1861, it underwent complete reconstruction between 1998 and 2002.

The temple displays tablets honoring important Vietnamese scholars like Chu Văn An and Nguyễn Trãi. Visitors can see spaces where ceremonies and educational gatherings still take place today.

The temple is located roughly three kilometers from central Biên Hòa and is relatively easy to reach. Visitors should allow time to explore the different halls and courtyards at a leisurely pace.

The main sanctuary contains an altar dedicated to Ho Chi Minh, blending modern Vietnamese history with Confucian traditions. This combination shows how the place honors its historical roots while also acknowledging Vietnam's recent past.
