Dong Nai Museum, Cultural museum in Bien Hoa City, Vietnam
The Dong Nai Museum is a regional museum in Bien Hoa, the capital of Dong Nai Province in southern Vietnam, displaying archaeological finds, historical objects, and exhibits on the natural history of the area. The collection is spread across several rooms and covers a period from prehistory through to the more recent past.
Dong Nai Province is one of the longest-settled areas of southern Vietnam, and the museum was set up to gather and share objects from that long past with the public. Over time, the collection grew through archaeological digs and donations from local communities.
The museum displays objects from several ethnic groups living in the province, including everyday items and crafts still made in the region today. Walking through the rooms, visitors can notice how different communities kept their own ways of making and living side by side.
The museum sits in central Bien Hoa and can be reached on foot from many nearby hotels and guesthouses. Allow enough time to see all sections, as the exhibits are spread across more than one floor.
Among the exhibits are stone-age tools found near the Dong Nai River, showing that people settled in this area thousands of years ago. Some of these objects come from dig sites located right along the riverbank, which are still being studied today.
