Kush Kalyan, Mountain trek route in Uttarkashi district, India
The Kush Kalyan trek spans 16 kilometers through dense forests and alpine meadows, reaching elevations of 3,400 meters in the Garhwal Himalayas region.
The trek path follows traditional mountain routes connecting the villages of Malla, Sila, and Belak, which have existed for generations in Uttarakhand.
Local villages along the trek route maintain traditional farming practices on terraced fields and preserve mountain customs through their daily activities.
The trek requires 5 days to complete, with established camping spots at Gairi Camp and opportunities to descend through either Belak or Pinswar villages.
From the alpine meadow at 3,141 meters, trekkers can observe three major Himalayan peaks: Jaonli, Kalanag, and Bandarpunch, all exceeding 6,300 meters.
