Mar Bella Beach

Mar Bella Beach sits along the northern coast of Puerto Rico with natural limestone walls that create a shallow protected area for swimming. The beach divides into two sections: the eastern side offers calm waters while the western side experiences stronger currents.

The beach is located in the Puerto Nuevo barrio of Vega Baja, a municipality founded in 1776. This long-established area developed gradually as a coastal community along Puerto Rico's northern shore.

The beach serves as a gathering spot where local families spend weekends swimming and sharing meals together. Food vendors along the shore offer typical local dishes and snacks to visitors and residents.

The beach provides picnic tables, bathrooms, showers, playgrounds, and lifeguard service during daytime. Visiting on quieter days or outside peak weekend hours allows for a more relaxed experience.

The western section offers strong wave conditions that attract surfers looking for active water sports. This contrasts sharply with the protected calm waters on the eastern side that most casual swimmers prefer.
