Mil cascadas, Natural spring and waterfall system in Taxco de Alarcón, Mexico
This natural formation consists of multiple cascading waterfalls flowing through limestone rocks, creating numerous pools and streams along the Granados River.
The waterfall system has shaped the regional geography since pre-Hispanic times, serving as a water source for indigenous communities in the Guerrero region.
Local residents maintain traditional swimming and diving practices at specific points of the waterfalls, passing these customs down through generations.
Visitors can access the site through guided tours from Mexico City, with the journey taking approximately two and a half hours by vehicle.
The formation includes twenty different waterfalls with natural pools, offering jumping platforms ranging from three to eight meters in height.
