Ome Railway Park

The outdoor railway museum displays eight preserved steam locomotives, two electric train cars, and the front section of a 1960s Shinkansen bullet train.

Established in 1962 to mark the 90th anniversary of Japanese railways, the park exhibits a steam locomotive from 1871 that operated on Japan's first rail line.

The museum serves as an educational center where visitors can learn about the evolution of Japanese railway technology through preserved trains and informative displays.

Located 15 minutes by foot from JR Ome Station, the park opens daily from 10am to 5pm between March and October, and until 4pm from November to February.

Visitors can enter multiple driver cabins of historic steam locomotives and sit in the control seat of a 1969 Shinkansen that reached speeds of 260 kilometers per hour.
