John Wayne Birthplace Museum

The museum preserves an extensive collection of John Wayne artifacts including movie posters, wardrobe pieces, scripts, and personal letters that document his transformation from Marion Robert Morrison to Hollywood legend.

Marion Robert Morrison was born on May 26, 1907, in this modest four-room Iowa home that has been carefully restored to reflect its original 1907 appearance.

The museum features a theater with original seats from Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood, screening documentaries about Wayne's cinematic achievements and Western film contributions.

Open daily from March through November, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the museum charges $20 for adults with discounts for seniors, veterans, and children under 12.

The facility houses one of John Wayne's last custom-built cars and hosts special events featuring Western music performers and notable actors sharing stories about the film icon.
