The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art is an art institution in Cheongunhyoja-dong housing multiple exhibition spaces across several levels. History
The museum was founded in 1969 and initially occupied space within Gyeongbokgung Palace before moving to Deoksugung in 1973. After several decades at that location, the institution relocated to its current home in 2013.

The museum displays contemporary Korean artworks alongside international pieces, offering visitors insight into current artistic movements and how they develop. Regular rotating exhibitions allow people to see how different regions approach modern and contemporary art creation.
