Premier Palace
The Premier Palace is a large hotel in central Kyiv that stretches along Shevchenko Boulevard. It offers over 160 rooms, two restaurants, a lounge bar, an indoor swimming pool, spa and fitness center, alongside a private art gallery and several banquet halls.
The building was constructed around 1912 as a luxury hotel called Palast Hôtel and signaled Kyiv's rapid development. During World War I it served as an embassy for German officials, and in 1918 it became a refuge for Hetman Skoropadsky, Ukraine's ruler at that time.
The hotel's name reflects Kyiv's early 20th-century urban elegance and aspirations. You notice throughout the public spaces a blend of historical details and modern furnishings that show respect for the building's heritage.
The hotel sits within walking distance of the Opera, the Kyiv National Museum of Russian Art, and the Golden Gate. Teatralna metro station is nearby, providing easy connections to other parts of the city, and the surrounding area with shops and cafes is easily explored on foot.
Several suites carry the names of famous artists such as actress Lubov Orlova and singer Alexander Vertinskiy. The rooftop restaurant Terracotta serves European and Ukrainian cuisine with views of the city and remains a lesser-known spot for visitors seeking local dining experiences.
