Driftwood Sculpture Walk, Lincoln Park, West Seattle

Driftwood Sculpture Walk, Lincoln Park, West Seattle, Beach art collection in Lincoln Park, Seattle, United States.

Driftwood Sculpture Walk is a collection of wood carvings along the northern beach path of Lincoln Park, featuring sculpted marine animals and artistic formations set against the Puget Sound. These works are made from materials found on the shore and shaped by local artists, creating an open-air art gallery by the water.

The collection started in 2012 when local artists began carving found driftwood into detailed sculptures. This initiative created a new outdoor exhibition space and brought attention to the artistic possibilities of natural materials in the region.

The driftwood sculptures reflect Pacific Northwest artistic traditions, connecting contemporary environmental art with indigenous wood carving heritage of the region. The works show how local artists use natural materials to tell stories tied to the rhythm of life by the water.

Access the sculpture walk through the north beach entrance of Lincoln Park at 7398 Beach Drive Southwest, where parking is available near the main paths. The walk is best explored at low tide, when more shoreline becomes visible and the paths are more accessible.

Each sculpture is made from naturally deposited driftwood that artists carve on site, creating temporary installations that shift with tides, seasons, and natural weathering. The location means new works continually appear while older pieces are gradually reclaimed by nature.
