Animal City, Zoo in Dair Tammish, Lebanon
Animal City is a zoo in the Naher el Kalb Valley that houses more than 50 animal species in natural habitats. The facility spans a large area with separate sections designed for different types of animals.
The zoo was founded in 2008 as one of the first public animal exhibitions in the region and developed into a significant facility over time. It was created to introduce visitors to diverse animal species in a controlled environment.
The facility organizes educational programs that teach Lebanese children about wildlife conservation, environmental protection, and responsible animal care practices.
The zoo opens daily with shorter hours during winter months and extended hours during warmer months. Visitors should prepare for varying weather conditions since most areas are outdoors.
Visitors can interact directly with tame horses and ride them, as well as participate in photo sessions with non-venomous snakes. These hands-on activities provide direct contact with animals beyond simply viewing them.
