Bird Park Malta, Wildlife sanctuary in San Pawl il-Baħar, Malta.
Bird Park Malta is a sanctuary housing over 200 bird species along with mammals and reptiles in spacious outdoor and covered areas. The animals are arranged in sections that allow visitors to see them up close while they move naturally.
The park opened to the public in 2012 and became a center for bird protection and research in the Mediterranean region. Since then, it has grown as a place where conservation work happens on a regular basis.
The park shows how birds live and interact with each other in spacious enclosures, helping visitors understand different species and their needs. Walking through the grounds, you notice how the spaces are designed to let birds behave naturally.
The park is accessible by public bus lines from nearby towns and neighborhoods. Comfortable shoes are recommended as you will walk through several sections to see all the animals.
Some wild bird species like Black Winged Stilts and Great Reed Warblers have established breeding populations on the grounds. These birds arrived naturally and now return each year to nest in the protected space.
