Screws sulphuric pools, Thermal pools in Wotton-Waven, Dominica
Screw Sulphuric Pools are four natural thermal baths with varying temperatures located in Wotton-Waven, surrounded by green mountain landscapes in Saint George Parish. The waters are mineral-rich, and each pool has been developed to accommodate different bathing preferences.
The pools developed gradually over many years as a local resident named Screw transformed raw hot springs into structured bathing facilities. His work turned a natural site into the established gathering place it is today.
Local people gather regularly at these thermal waters to socialize and share knowledge about the healing powers of sulfur springs passed down through generations. The pools have become an important gathering place in the community.
The facility operates from Tuesday through Sunday between 10:00 AM and 10:00 PM, with the warmest pool located near the entrance for easy access. Visitors can easily move between pools to find their preferred water temperature.
Each of the four pools maintains different water temperatures naturally through geothermal activity in the area. Visitors can experience a natural temperature range from cool to very hot by progressing through the pools.
