Papillote Gardens

Papillote Gardens is a botanical garden and restaurant set on a mountainside in Dominica. The grounds feature multiple plant collections including bromeliads, gingers, heliconias, and native orchids arranged throughout the rainforest setting.

The property was established about 50 years ago and became one of the island's primary nature destinations. Since its founding, it has shaped how people experience and appreciate the tropical environment.

The site reflects how the island values its tropical plant heritage and biodiversity. People come here to connect with native species and understand the rainforest ecosystem that surrounds their community.

The site is most accessible from November through August when weather conditions are most favorable. Sturdy shoes are recommended due to wet paths and slopes throughout the grounds.

Two natural waterfalls within the grounds flow into cold streams that reach the Roseau River. The location also features volcanic mineral pools where visitors can bathe in warm natural basins.
