The Coteaux de la Citadelle extends across 90 hectares of natural terrain, featuring numerous walking paths and green spaces throughout the elevated landscape.
The site contains 60 monuments and architectural elements that showcase the evolution of Liège's defensive structures from medieval times through subsequent centuries.
During the annual Nocturne des Coteaux event, thousands of candles illuminate the paths while local musicians perform throughout the connected terraces.
Visitors can access multiple walking routes by obtaining free maps at the VisitezLiège tourist office, located near Place Saint-Lambert in the city center.
The network of paths incorporates drinking fountains, gardens, and staircases, including the 374-step Montagne de Bueren connecting downtown to the hilltop citadel.
