Sri Navasakthi Vinayagar Temple, Hindu temple in Bel Air, Seychelles
This Hindu temple features bright paint colors and architectural elements characteristic of Tamil Nadu temples, with traditional South Indian decorative patterns on its exterior walls.
Constructed in 1992, the temple emerged as the first and only Hindu sacred structure in Seychelles, marking a significant development for the local religious community.
The temple hosts two major annual celebrations: the Kavadi procession in January or February and the Hindu Chariot Procession in August or September.
Located near Sir Selwyn-Clarke Market, the temple welcomes visitors Monday through Saturday between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM, with requirements to remove shoes before entry.
This temple, dedicated to Lord Vinayagar, received government recognition through the establishment of an official holiday for the Hindu community during Thaipoosam day.
