Praia Macaco

Praia Macaco is a golden sand beach on Príncipe's coast with tall palm trees lining the shore. The waters are clear, and abandoned structures from a former resort project stand scattered along the beach.

The site preserves remnants of an unfinished resort project dating to the late twentieth century. These structures reflect earlier attempts to develop tourism on the island.

Local fishermen occasionally use traditional wooden boats to fish in these waters. Their presence reflects how the community maintains a direct connection to the sea for their daily livelihood.

The beach is remote and lacks facilities, so bring water, food, and supplies for your visit. Access is best arranged from Roça Belo Monte's entrance, which serves as a reference point for navigation.

The beach presents an intriguing contrast where vegetation gradually reclaims the abandoned structures. This blend of forgotten human development and natural regeneration creates an unusual setting for visitors to explore.
