Praia Boi

Praia Boi is a beach on Principe Island with fine golden sand and clear water for swimming. Dense tropical forest grows right down to the shore, creating a natural frame around the beach.

Portuguese settlers first mapped this coastal area in the 15th century during their exploration of Principe Island. The beach has changed little since those early colonial times.

Local fishermen work here using handmade nets and wooden boats, skills taught from one generation to the next. Their daily routines shape the rhythm of the beach and connect the community to the ocean.

Sea turtles come regularly during nesting season to lay their eggs on the sand. This natural occurrence makes it a noteworthy spot for watching marine life.
