Mirador de Samara, Scenic viewpoint in Guía de Isora, Spain.
The start of this round-walking trail is a viewing point at approximately 1,865 meters (6,100 feet) elevation offering views of Mount Teide, Pico Viejo, and the volcanic formations in the area. From here a circular route of about 5.5 kilometers (3.4 miles) winds through volcanic rock formations and passes through varied terrain with moderate elevation changes.
The volcanic formations visible from this location were shaped by eruptions and geological processes that occurred over millions of years, creating the landscape seen today. These rock layers and structures tell the story of how this part of Tenerife developed through volcanic activity.
This starting point is part of a walking route network that shows how visitors move through different sections of Teide National Park and experience the volcanic environment. The trail connects various viewpoints that let hikers see the landscape from multiple angles.
Access by car is available to reach the starting point, making it relatively straightforward to begin the walk. Arriving early helps ensure parking availability and allows for better visibility during your visit.
The route is marked as trail S-13 and circles around Montaña de la Botija through striking red and dark volcanic rocks. The color contrast between the different rock types makes this particular walk visually distinctive.
