King Khalid Grand Mosque

This mosque showcases modern Islamic architecture with Turkish design elements, featuring a large central dome, elegant minarets, and bronze doors adorned with intricate geometric patterns and Arabic calligraphy.

Built between 1987 and 1988 with funding from relatives of King Khalid bin Abdulaziz, the mosque was officially inaugurated on April 14, 1988, with Sheikh Abd al-Aziz Ibn Baz delivering the inaugural sermon.

The mosque serves as a vital community center during Ramadan, hosting evening Tarawih prayers and strengthening spiritual and cultural bonds within Riyadh's diverse Muslim population through educational programs and social gatherings.

Open daily from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, the mosque provides separate ablution facilities, designated prayer areas for men and women, and ample parking space to accommodate thousands of worshippers.

The mosque features deep red carpets with yellow motifs covering its prayer halls, creating a distinctive contemplative environment enhanced by brass lamps and geometrically framed windows that filter natural light.
