Špindlerův Mlýn

Špindlerův Mlýn stands at 718 meters elevation in the Giant Mountains, encompassing 76.94 square kilometers of terrain with skiing slopes and hiking trails.

The settlement emerged in 1676 when the Špindler family operated a mill, which later became the foundation for the town's name and development.

The Church of Saints Peter and Paul, constructed in 1802, represents the architectural heritage of this mountain community.

The municipality maintains multiple ski lifts, equipment rental facilities, and accommodations that serve over one million visitors throughout the year.

Franz Kafka initiated writing his novel 'The Castle' during his stay in Špindlerův Mlýn in 1922, drawing inspiration from the local surroundings.
