Sokolník, Mountain summit in Karkonosze National Park, Czech Republic

Tafelsteinplatte is a mountain summit in the Krkonošsko-jesenická ridge located within Karkonosze National Park along the Czech-Polish border. The peak serves as a junction point where several marked hiking trails intersect, making it an important waypoint for visitors navigating the region.

The summit is built of Karkonosze granite, and its top is covered by a boulder field formed in periglacial conditions during the Pleistocene. The broad, marshy Szrenicki Kocioł hollow lies to the north, between Szrenica and Łabski Szczyt, while the Labská louka plateau with the springs of the Elbe stretches to the south.

The name Sokolník means "falconer" in Czech, and the German name Tafelsteinplatte refers to a flat rock slab. The summit lies on the Polish-Czech border, and the red-marked Path of Polish-Czech Friendship runs just north of it past the Twarożnik rock.

The summit can be reached via several well-marked hiking routes and serves as an orientation point for many trails in the area. Visitors should be prepared for changing weather conditions and visibility that can vary depending on which direction you approach from.

The summit sits exactly on the Polish-Czech border, and the red-marked Path of Polish-Czech Friendship runs just north of it, past the Twarożnik rock on the western slope above Mokra Przełęcz. The bare top is covered by a boulder field formed in periglacial conditions during the Pleistocene.
