The development replaced a Milwaukee County Transit Service bus facility, which was purchased and demolished in 2017 to make way for this new structure.
The building serves as a connecting point for Milwaukee's urban development, integrating public transportation through a transit concourse for The Hop streetcar system.
The structure contains 312 apartment units and 52,000 square feet of commercial space, with direct access to downtown Milwaukee's lakefront area.
The federal government required specific guarantees for the $122 million project, including an $80 million private loan through the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
