Wenonah Park covers about 6.1 acres on the east bank of the Saginaw River. At its center is The World Friendship Shell, an amphitheatre decorated with a large oval sculpture and a water fountain. A boat dock runs along the seawall.
The park was established in 1908 alongside the Wenonah Hotel construction as a city initiative. Public funding supported the project, reflecting how important this development was to Bay City's growth.
The World Friendship Shell serves as a gathering hub where concerts and community events happen throughout the year. Local residents use this space to celebrate together and stay connected to their city.
The park is located near downtown and open daily with picnic tables, drinking fountains, and restroom facilities available. The riverside location makes it easy to reach on foot and offers plenty of space to walk around and rest.
The park's oval sculpture and fountain sit beside The World Friendship Shell, the amphitheatre at its centre. The site was bought with US$200,000 in bonds approved by Bay City voters, credited to the park fund by the Lumbermen's State Bank on 18 May 1908.
