Switchback

Switchback is a wooden shuttle roller coaster at ZDT's Amusement Park in Seguin that propels riders along a course featuring a steep drop section. The ride offers a family-friendly experience with moderate speeds and direct reversals on a relatively short track layout.

This roller coaster opened in 2015 and made use of existing structures from a former grocery store and farm buildings that sat on the site. The adaptive reuse of these elements allowed the park to introduce a new attraction on what had been unused land.

The name ZDT represents the initials of the owners' children Zac, Danielle, and Tiffany, who inspired the creation of this family entertainment venue.

Children must be at least 48 inches tall to ride alone, while younger visitors between 42 and 48 inches need an adult companion. The best time to visit is on quieter weekdays when wait times tend to be shorter.

This wooden coaster is one of the few shuttle-type wooden rides in the world that can operate in both forward and backward directions on the same track. This means each ride experience differs depending on which direction the train travels.
