Brighton State Park encompasses 152 acres of forested land with mountains, clear lakes, and sandy beaches along Spectacle Pond and Island Pond.
The park stands near Island Pond, which operated as an international railroad junction in the late 1800s with thirteen rail tracks crossing through the area.
Park interpreters conduct educational programs about local wildlife, including night hikes, nature crafts, and sessions focused on discovering amphibian species.
The park maintains 54 tent sites, 23 lean-to areas, 5 cabins, and three restroom facilities with flush toilets, hot showers, and running water.
A beach wheelchair is available without charge for visitors needing assistance to access the recreational areas along the water.
