Saint Michael the Archangel Church stands along the River Raisin with a 183-foot steeple and traditional stained glass windows throughout its structure.
The church began serving German-speaking immigrant families in 1852, with the current building constructed between 1866 and 1867 under Bishop Peter Paul Lefevre's approval.
The interior displays life-size stations of the cross added in 1923 by artisan Matthew Ising, along with numerous religious paintings and statues.
The church offers regular services at 502 W Front Street, with masses scheduled on Saturdays at 5:00 PM and Sundays at 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM.
The rose window above the altar remains the only original stained glass window from the initial 1860s construction period.
