Malacca Butterfly and Reptile Sanctuary, Butterfly and reptile sanctuary in Ayer Keroh, Malaysia
The sanctuary maintains dedicated zones for both butterflies and reptiles, with more than 6000 butterflies representing 120 different species within the facility.
The establishment originated as a private hobby project in 1990 before its transformation into a public sanctuary with an official opening in February 1991.
The facility functions as an educational center where visitors learn about Malaysian wildlife conservation through direct observation of native species.
Located near the North-South Expressway exit at Plaza Ayer Keroh, the sanctuary welcomes visitors daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
The sanctuary contains over 100 types of flowering plants specifically selected to support the natural life cycles of the butterfly population.
