Malacca Bee Gallery, Bee museum in Ayer Keroh, Malaysia.
Malacca Bee Gallery is a building in Ayer Keroh dedicated to the world of bees. It contains around 250 specimens of bee hives and hornet nests, organized across different sections covering beekeeping, species, habitats, and the tools used to gather honey.
The building opened in 1988 as the World's Bees Museum before undergoing renovation and reopening in 2013 under its current name. This transformation turned it into a modernized space with improved displays.
The gallery shows how bees and hornets have long been important to farming in Malaysia. Visitors can see traditional beekeeping practices and understand why these insects matter so much for crops.
The location is accessible daily and offers parking on-site, making arrival straightforward. Visitors also have the chance to taste various honey products to experience their flavor and quality firsthand.
The facility is run by Giant B, Malaysia's largest honey producer, which showcases its knowledge and products here. This allows visitors to discover specialized items like bee venom honey and royal jelly that are rarely found elsewhere.
