Aborigines Museum

Aborigines Museum, Indigenous heritage museum in Ayer Keroh, Malaysia.

The Aborigines Museum is a museum building in Ayer Keroh designed to replicate a traditional Temuan tribe longhouse. Inside, exhibits display hunting equipment, clothing, ceremonial objects, and everyday items from multiple indigenous groups across the Malay Peninsula.

The museum was established in 1997 and documents the lives of multiple indigenous groups who lived on the Malay Peninsula. It was created as a place to preserve the knowledge and practices of these communities for future generations.

The exhibits present traditional hunting tools like blowpipes and wedding customs of Malaysian indigenous communities. You can observe how these groups maintained their crafting techniques and social rituals throughout their daily lives.

The best approach is via Lebuh Ayer Keroh road. Plan enough time to explore the different exhibition areas at a comfortable pace and examine the details of the objects on display.

The museum displays a remarkable collection of wooden masks created by the Mah Meri and Jahut communities. A particularly notable feature is a model of a traditional Temuan burial ground that offers insight into ritual practices.
