Seri Bakti Bridge

Seri Bakti Bridge, Government bridge in Putrajaya, Malaysia.

Seri Bakti Bridge is a crossing over Putrajaya Lake with two lanes in each direction, a center divider, and separate paths for pedestrians and cyclists. The structure spans about 270 meters and connects two key administrative areas of the city.

The bridge was completed in 1999 and marked an important step in connecting the Government Precinct with other parts of Putrajaya. This project was part of the larger infrastructure development of the new federal city.

The bridge displays Malaysian design elements through its concrete features and details inspired by Islamic architecture. These design choices connect the structure to the local building culture of Putrajaya.

When crossing, pedestrians and cyclists should use the dedicated separate paths that are clearly separated from vehicle traffic. Access to the bridge is straightforward and offers good orientation from both sides of the lake.

The structure uses a special system of precast concrete beams that allows it to achieve large spans between support pillars. This technical design is interesting for those curious about modern bridge construction.
