Tun Mustapha Tower, Glass skyscraper in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia.
Tun Mustapha Tower is a 32-floor skyscraper in the business district of Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, rising to 122 m. Its outer walls are covered in thousands of glass panels arranged around a 72-sided polygonal floor plan.
The tower was completed in 1976 by the Japanese construction firm Mori Building Company and was originally known as Yayasan Sabah Tower. It was built during a period when Kota Kinabalu was growing quickly as a regional center.
The tower is home to the Sabah Foundation, an organization that supports education and economic opportunities across the state. Inside, visitors can walk through a library and a museum that are both open to the public.
The building sits in Kota Kinabalu's business district and is easy to reach on foot from the city center. A morning visit tends to give the clearest views toward Likas Bay and the surrounding hills.
The 18th floor features a rotating platform that completes one full turn every hour, slowly shifting the view of Likas Bay and Mount Kinabalu. This kind of rotating floor is very rare in Malaysia and draws visitors who may not expect it in a building of this age.
