Lanjak Entimau Wildlife Sanctuary

The sanctuary extends across 182,983 hectares of dense tropical forest, containing multiple vegetation types and supporting numerous wildlife species within its boundaries.

The Forest Department established this conservation zone in 1983 to protect the natural resources and wildlife populations in the Sarawak region.

The sanctuary functions as an educational center where researchers and local communities learn about wildlife conservation and rainforest preservation methods.

Visitors must obtain permits from the Forest Department Sarawak and arrange transportation by longboat through specific river entry points.

This protected area, combined with Batang Ai National Park, maintains a population of 1,400 orangutans in their natural mountain forest habitat.
