Kunora e Lurës

Kunora e Lurës is a mountain summit in Lurë National Park with steep rocky sides and rises to about 2,100 meters. The landscape shows bare stone faces and receives heavy snow coverage during winter.

Lurë National Park was established in 1966 to protect this mountain region and its ecosystem. The peak itself has long served as a landmark in the regional landscape.

Local mountain communities maintain traditional practices of seasonal grazing and gathering medicinal plants on the slopes of Kunora e Lurës.

Hikers should arrive with proper gear and good physical preparation, as weather at this elevation can change quickly. The best time to visit is during warmer months when trails are less snow-covered.

The peak ranks highest among summits in the Lezhë region and winter snow can accumulate to depths beyond 2 meters. These extreme conditions make it a place where visitors directly experience the power of alpine winters.
