Bengo Province

Bengo Province spans 31,371 square kilometers across northern Angola, containing six municipalities and multiple rivers flowing toward the Atlantic Ocean.

The province emerged in 1980 when the government divided the original Luanda province into two separate administrative regions for better governance.

Each municipality within Bengo Province maintains traditional fishing practices along the coastal areas, contributing to local food production and commerce.

The provincial capital of Caxito connects to Luanda through main roads, facilitating regular trade and transportation between these important urban centers.

Scientists discovered the first dinosaur fossil skeleton in Angola within Bengo Province, naming the species Angolatitan adamastor.
