The Chile Pavilion is a wooden structure with a suspended design carried by four concrete pillars and spanning approximately 1,910 square meters. Inside, a central ramp leads to a multimedia core area, while a restaurant offers regional specialties and wines.
The building was created in 2015 as Chile's contribution to the World Exposition in Milan and was designed by architect Cristián Undurraga. After the exhibition closed, the structure was transported back to Chile and relocated near a national park.
The exhibition showcases Chile's natural landscape diversity through visual displays and regional cultural elements that visitors can observe firsthand. These presentations reflect how different parts of the country shape the identity and traditions of people who inhabit them.
Visitors should plan adequate time to explore the different exhibition areas and use the ramp that leads through the space. The restaurant can serve as a resting point between explorations and offers local beverages and food to sample.
The structure was engineered with a modular assembly system that allows for complete disassembly and transport across long distances. This technical solution enabled the building to have a future in Chile rather than remaining in Italy.
