La Sebastiana, Valparaíso

La Sebastiana spans five floors with a spiral staircase, displaying an extensive collection of maritime artifacts, antique furniture, and personal belongings.

The Spanish builder Sebastian Collado constructed this residence in the 1950s before Nobel laureate Pablo Neruda acquired it as his winter residence.

The house exhibits Neruda's collection of nineteenth-century maps, Victorian furniture pieces, colored glass windows, and maritime navigation instruments from different periods.

Visitors can reach the museum by taking the green O bus from Plaza Sotomayor to Avenida Alemania or walking uphill from Ascensor Espíritu Santo.

Each New Year's Eve, Neruda watched the harbor fireworks from his bedroom window, which offers a complete view of Valparaíso Bay.
