Fortín Prat, Indoor basketball stadium in Almendral neighborhood, Valparaíso, Chile

Fortín Prat is an indoor basketball arena located in the Almendral neighborhood of Valparaíso, situated between Rawson and Uruguay streets. The facility can accommodate around 3000 spectators and features a rectangular court designed for competitive matches.

The arena opened in 1944 during the administration of President Juan Antonio Ríos. It underwent major renovations in the 1960s that transformed its structure and added a roof to the facility.

The arena is named Fortín Prat, and its covered court hosts basketball matches in the Almendral barrio, the neighbourhood where it has stood since 1944. Spectators fill the 3000 seats to follow the sport in a hall inaugurated by President Juan Antonio Ríos.

Fortín Prat occupies the block bounded by Rawson and Uruguay streets in the Almendral, in the flat lower part of Valparaíso near the port and the Barón and Puerto metro stations. The hall is covered, so matches go ahead regardless of rain, and entry is through the street frontage on that block.

The court orientation was changed from north-south to east-west during the 1960s renovations. This adjustment was made to better accommodate the evolving needs of modern competitive basketball.
