Escuela Ramón Barros Luco

Escuela Ramón Barros Luco is a three-story school building on Victoria Street in El Almendral with Neo-Renaissance architectural elements. The structure features high ceilings, spacious classrooms, and classical details running along its continuous facade, along with a built-in two-story theater for student performances.

The building was designed in 1924 by architect Alfredo Azancot as part of a state program to create grand school buildings following the 1906 earthquake. This rebuilding effort transformed how Chile's government approached the design of public education spaces in the aftermath of natural disaster.
