Escuela Ramón Barros Luco, Educational monument in El Almendral, Valparaíso, Chile.
The three-story structure exhibits neo-Renaissance elements with high ceilings, large classrooms, and classical architectural details across its continuous facade on Victoria Street.
Built in 1924 by architect Alfredo Azancot, the school emerged from a state program of palace-schools following the 1906 earthquake that transformed Valparaíso's architecture.
The building incorporates a two-story theater for student performances and represents the educational developments of early 20th-century Chile through its grand design.
Located at Victoria Street 2637, corner of Morris Avenue, the school structure occupies 3,499 square meters in a commercial district near Teatro Municipal.
The building received recognition as a Historical Monument of Chile in 2003, though it required closure after structural damage from the 2010 earthquake.
