In October 1957, around twelve hundred families carried out a coordinated land occupation that marked the first organized urban settlement in Santiago. This event set the foundation for the development of an independent community with its own structures and traditions.
The neighborhood walls display murals created by local artists that reflect social movements and community spirit shaping the district's identity. These visual works tell stories of the struggles and hopes of the people who live here.
