Chinese Garden, Santiago de Chile, Chinese garden in O'Higgins Park, Santiago, Chile
The Chinese Garden in Santiago is a landscaped space in the southern section of O'Higgins Park featuring ornamental bridges, water features with koi fish, and traditional pavilions. Winding paths guide visitors through carefully designed areas that combine water, plants, and structures.
The site was developed in 2006 through financial support from the Chinese government. After extensive renovations, it reopened to the public in 2017.
The garden reflects feng shui principles through its layout, with traditional elements like the paifang gate and four Buddha lions positioned at the entrance. These features guide how visitors move through the space and what they notice along the way.
The garden sits in the southern section of the park near Rondizzoni Street and is easily reached by public transportation. It remains accessible year-round with paved pathways throughout.
At the heart of the garden stands a pagoda-shaped pergola structure positioned above a pond. Within this water feature, lotus flowers bloom alongside local water birds.
