Cerro Apoquindo

Cerro Apoquindo is a peak in the Sierra de Ramón range that rises to 863 meters with multiple hiking trails crossing the terrain. The mountain has natural springs and offers various routes for visitors of different skill levels.

The area was shaped by agriculture and ranches in the late 19th century, as recorded in Las Condes hacienda documents. This reflects how the region's use has changed over time.

The name comes from Quechua 'apu K'intu', which means a sacred mountain in Andean traditions. Local people today still see this place as connected to their relationship with the land around them.

The San Vicente Ferrer and General Blanche routes offer different difficulty levels for reaching the summit. Plan to start early and watch for weather changes, as conditions can shift quickly at higher elevations.

The mountain is known for the natural springs called Baños de Apoquindo, which are geologically interesting and regionally important. These springs have held significance in the area's life for a long time.
