The three-story neocolonial municipal building features large pillars, ornamental lanterns, and a central balcony at its entrance on Prat Street.
Following a devastating fire in 1936 that destroyed the previous town hall, architect Enrique Benavente designed this structure, which was completed in 1938.
The building's facade displays the original city shield that marked La Serena's entrance when defensive walls protected it from French and English pirates.
The municipal building houses both the city administration offices and the Court of Appeals, with separate entrances on Prat Street and Los Carrera Street.
The interior contains a wooden staircase leading to a second floor with antique furniture and an artistic tile painting gifted by the city of Talavera de la Reina.
