Iglesia de Santo Domingo, La Serena, Colonial stone church in La Serena, Chile.
The church features a single nave measuring 45 meters in length, constructed with limestone blocks and crowned by a nineteenth-century bell tower.
Built between 1673 and 1675, the structure served as a refuge during the 1686 attack by English pirate Edward Davis on La Serena.
The interior displays wooden beam ceilings, a carved stone fountain in the sacristy, and a statue of the Virgin of the Rosary from Quito.
Located at 235 Gregorio Cordovez Street, the church holds Sunday masses at 11:30 and 19:00, with additional Thursday services at 11:00.
The south wall contains a stone engraved with the year 1673, marking the beginning of the original construction period.
