Mullu Q'awa, Archaeological site in Espinar Province, Peru

Located at 4,000 meters elevation in the Cusco Region, Mullu Q'awa extends across 12 hectares of mountainous Andean terrain.

The archaeological complex received official recognition as National Cultural Heritage of Peru through Resolution No. 954-2010-INC on April 27, 2010.

The site's name originates from Aymara language, where 'mullu' refers to coral-colored stones used in necklaces, while 'q'awa' indicates a river or crevice.

Visitors need to prepare for the high-altitude conditions and mountainous terrain when exploring this archaeological site in the Espinar Province.

The location contains structural remains that demonstrate the architectural methods and settlement patterns of pre-Inca civilizations in the central Andes.
