Park of the Exposition, Urban park in Santa Beatriz district, Lima, Peru.
Park of the Exposition is an urban park in Santa Beatriz district of Lima and spreads across a wide area with lakes, gardens, and an amphitheater. Several historic buildings within the park display neoclassical architecture and house museums as well as cultural facilities.
After the city walls came down in the 19th century, the park emerged as part of a modernization program to enable an international exhibition. The palace and grounds were built at that time as a sign of urban progress.
The art museum inside the palace displays rotating presentations of Peruvian works and makes the country's artistic legacy accessible to visitors. The palace itself stands out with its neoclassical facade and draws art enthusiasts from across the city.
The park opens daily from morning to evening and does not charge admission for access to the outdoor grounds. Security staff are present during opening hours and the paths are easy to walk for visitors.
This spot once held the country's first zoo, which displayed animals from the Amazon region and drew visitors for decades. The facility was later relocated, but the park kept its role as a green space for rest in the city center.
