Atchugarry Museum of Contemporary Art

The Atchugarry Museum features five exhibition halls, displaying 500 pieces from international artists within a structure designed by Carlos Ott in 2022.

Founded by sculptor Pablo Atchugarry as an extension of his foundation, the museum opened its doors on January 8, 2022, with President Luis Lacalle Pou attending.

The permanent collection includes works by Wifredo Lam, Vik Muniz, Louise Nevelson, Frank Stella, and Joaquín Torres-García, representing various contemporary movements.

Located on a 90-acre property, the museum incorporates flexible exhibition spaces and an outdoor sculpture park with convenient access from the Atlantic coast.

The building's architecture features a wave-like form with a timber frame made from Red Grandis eucalyptus, creating unobstructed interior galleries.
