Campus Municipal de Maldonado

Campus Municipal de Maldonado is a sports complex featuring multiple facilities, anchored by the Domingo Burgueño Miguel Stadium with capacity for roughly 22,000 spectators. The site includes practice fields, changing rooms, and various support structures for hosting athletic events.

The facility originated from converting an existing field for the 1995 Copa America, representing a major expansion of sports infrastructure in Maldonado. This modernization established the foundation for the region's current role in South American sports.

The complex serves as host for the Punta del Este Seven, an annual rugby tournament that draws international teams and establishes the region as a major sporting hub.

The complex provides press facilities with one hundred separate telephone lines and VIP areas accommodating roughly 500 people. Visitor groups find space for four team delegations along with adequate parking and public transport access.

The grounds housed South America's first Olympic-size swimming pool, hosting multiple South American Championships in 1994 and 2004. This pool remains a testament to the region's sporting importance and continues to attract swimmers and coaches from across the continent.
